2019 Pelizzoli Custom

I have always loved Ciocc frames, so when I heard Ciocc founder Giovanni Pelizzoli was still building I put in an order for a custom frame.

Built in 2019 with Columbus Spirit tubing, clearance for 26mm tires, and extended "Frueler style" seat and head tube.

The size is equivalent to 61x58 and the bike is built with a mixed Campagnolo 8 speed groupset, mainly Record, and H+ Son rims. I threw in a hack to get a lower gear so I can actually ride this bike in the mountains here in Colorado. The Campagnolo 8sp groups only had a 26t cog as the biggest option, but on some of the very early MTB and road groups Campy did have cassettes with 30t cogs. The issue is the spline pattern is slightly different, but a bit of filing gets that 30t cog to fit on the Exadrive freehwheel body, giving me a 39x30 lowest gear.... which I certainly need these days!

At the very last minute I changed my mind on the color of this bike. It was going to be pearl white, but then I thought I would like blue. The color is truly amazing.
